Rocking up Comodoro

People,

   I just feel at  home here in Comodoro. All the good old things of everyone who lives here hating the city, not too many crazy evangelical people because everyone works out in the campo and have no time or are not crazy enough to get involved in all of that, etc.

    So this week  we were knocking doors and talked to a born and raised Comodoro Rivadavian (not too common since most of the city are immigrants).  For the first  time in Elder Streadbeck and my mission´s we met a guy  who´s ways of seeing the world and everything in it not skewed by Argentine culture. Such a cool guy.  Talked about  how cool America is. He said America is doing very well in the world  because many people there still value chastity. He said Argentine society is falling apart and fast. Few people make it virgin past  fourteen  years old.  Infidelity and fornication are seen as acceptable and are even encouraged by parents. The result. Broken homes, drugs, stupid kids, kids here and there. Men laydrunk in the streets and single woman try to raise a family in the cardboard boxes that are their homes, while their kids walk around in large groups smoking marijuana,etc.  That is what he told us and it is true. No stupid hate for the English or anything dumb like that because the government said so. What a cool guy. So out of the norm.

    We found some  BOLIVIANS. I love Bolivians, a lot. Pablo and Saira let us in their house knocking doors. Three cute kids. Listened to us and act ually know a ton about the Bible having been active in some church before. Actively listened and didn´t reject anything we shared with them. I have the strong impression that this family  are actively looking for truth.  In the house you can tell they are good parents by how they treat their children and how their children act around them. A nice traditional family. Hopefully all goes well this week.

    We also talked to an inactivating youth in our ward. Elder Streadbeck felt we should pass by  his house so we did. A lot of his family is falling into apostasy led by his olderst brother who is literally an anti mormon, in a bad way. This youth knew everything more or less so we were there talking to him with Elder Streadbeck telling him to be cool and not stupid. 

   So I´m working and am happy. The mission at least to me, is never going to get ëasy¨.  It´s good though right now. Hoping to be able to get some cool converts during the remaining ten weeks of my mission. Elder Streadbeck has almost fourteen months in the mission, so we both have experience and should be able to do some good work here in Comodoro.
